Les élèves de 3ème année ont fait un tour complet du Quartier Latin pour en savoir plus sur la
naissance et l’histoire de Paris. Le point de rencontre était l’emblématique fontaine Saint-Michel
pour rappeler notre cher Haussmann qui a pris la tâche de rendre Paris encore plus magnifique
que la ville de Londres. Ils poursuivent avec la visite de la plus ancienne librairie « Shakespeare
and Company » tout en admirant Notre-Dame de Paris toujours en rénovation.
La dernière partie de la visite se passe près du palais de justice, à la conciergerie qui devient un
des hauts lieux de détention pendant la Révolution française avec l’installation du tribunal
révolutionnaire. Sa plus grande prisonnière est Marie-Antoinette. Actuellement, une exposition de
sculptures sur sable de Théo Mercier est présentée.
ICFORMODELS – THE LATIN QUARTER
The 3rd graders took a full tour of the Latin Quarter to learn more about the birth and history of
Paris. The meeting point was the iconic Saint-Michel Fountain to remind us of our beloved
Haussmann who took it upon himself to make Paris even more magnificent than the city of
London. They continued with a visit to the oldest bookstore « Shakespeare and Company » while
admiring Notre Dame de Paris still under renovation.
The last part of the tour is spent near the courthouse, at the conciergerie which became one of
the main places of detention during the French Revolution with the installation of the revolutionary
court. Its greatest prisoner was Marie-Antoinette. Currently, an exhibition of sand sculptures by
Théo Mercier is presented.
